Tomorrow will be my first day in the classroom, with my new kindergarteners. I'm nervous and excited. I have no idea what is going to happen, or what kind of teacher I'm going to be.
I am a 32-year old career changer. I'm left the cubicle-and-computer life behind to pursue the path not taken: being an elementary school teacher. I am now teaching 8th grade science in a diverse, low-income school on the Northside of Chicago.

I am an almost-30 teacher who is considering leaving the field so it is good to see people coming in.
Don't lose the passion.
Best of luck. I just left after five years in the field.
Relax, be able to laugh at just about anything, and enjoy the ride.
